CHANGING THE GAME TOGETHER
At the age of 15, I began my journey in youth work by establishing the Young Achievers Empowerment Project with other youths and two mentors. This experience affirmed to me that there is a need to create our own tables instead of waiting for a seat at the existing ones, where we may feel like outsiders. We must become revolutionaries who drive action and implementation, not just satisfied with resolutions. Our focus should be on creating programmes that represent the diversity of the youthful demographic and are responsive to their lived experiences.
We must amplify the work and voices of this community and add value to the development agenda. As someone who is passionate about harnessing the vibrancy of youth, I am excited to see youthful ideologies, participation, and investment take precedence. The call is for all youth workers, partners, and patrons to innovate, uncover cutting-edge solutions, and rebrand our continent. When you have a seat at the table, use your power to lift us all up. Together, we can change the narrative and create our own, with youthful energy and enthusiasm leading the way.
By empowering young people, we can build a brighter future for all.
